Title: The power of mathematical modelling – from reservoirs to the human body: an application to kidney filtration
The laws of mathematics are extremely powerful and can be used to describe a variety of seemingly different problems. In this talk we will focus on some mathematical modelling for porous media, typically used in reservoir modelling to model the flow of oil in the soil, and show how this technique can be applied to describe and reconstruct deformations of organs like the kidney.
